For those who think pie is just a delicious crusty treat which our Hospitality girls have perfected… you haven’t yet met our Academic Committee!

Pi is in fact the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter, and to celebrate International Pi Day our Glennie Academic Committee and Hospitality team at Cafe G teamed up at both recess and lunch.

Delicious baked pies were sold, and a very special Pi competition was held for students in Years 7 to 12. Our competitors memorised as many digits of Pi, and for each correct digit they received a jelly bean.

By the number of students walking around with handfuls of jelly beans, the Academic Committee was more than successful in getting more Glennie girls interested in maths. A special mention goes out to our Year 8 girls who demonstrated their love of learning, turning up in force with 12 girls entering the competition.

Lucinda Love in Year 10 led the charge for Donaldson topping the score with 200!

Congratulations to all of the girls who were instrumental in this wonderful initiative.
