After cancellations and postponements due to Covid-19, The Glennie Fair finally returned on Sunday, and what a day it was!

The skies were clear and the crowds returned to Herries Street from the moment the gates opened, with the lines for rides and market stalls remaining until close. The day was one of enjoyment and friendship, as our Glennie girls, current, past and future parents, and Old Girls returned to celebrate our wonderful community.

The Glennie Fair has become an institution for both Glennie and Toowoomba, with families converging on the school to soak up the carnival atmosphere.

For months, the Parents and Friends Association has worked tirelessly, with many of our parent volunteers continuing to set up for the incoming crowds, well into the evening before. For the P&F, the Glennie Fair is far more than just a wonderful day for the wider community, but a significant fundraiser, allowing the Association to continue to support the School, the girls, and our families.

As the rides filled, BBQ was consumed, market stalls visited and musical and dance performances were watched, there was something for all who visited.

The pig races, animal farm and pony rides continue to be a favourite with our youngest guests, some girls visiting the petting zoo on more than a few occasions. The brightly coloured ponies, guided by our Glennie Equestrian girls, were the ideal carnival ride for the littlies, and the baby goats were a must-see for big and small.

Down on the oval, our touch football girls took part in some exciting games and paved the way for the running of the 2022 Glennie Gift.

After weeks of planning our Year Group stalls were filled to the brim with prizes, games, and gifts, with the show bags, face painting and mystery bottles continuing to be a crowd-pleaser. Many thanks to all of the Glennie families who contributed to these incredible initiatives.

For many girls from Prep to Year 12, the main action took place on stage with our Performing Arts students putting on a showcase from gates open to close. Whether it be solo performances, Big bands, ensembles, or our incredible dances, all of our girls who took to the stage performed their hearts out.

A very special thank you is extended by the whole community to the Glennie P&F, who worked tirelessly in the lead-up, and well after the crowds had dispersed, to provide an occasion for all to enjoy.

Events like the Glennie Fair would not be possible without the support of our sponsors. We thank our 2022 platinum sponsor Quadtech, our gold sponsors Toowoomba Orthodontists and Countrywide Legal & Business Services, along with our silver sponsors ABC Container Hire & Sales, Ecomputing, Ezali, GTH Group, Burling Brown Architects, The Royal Hotel Toowoomba and Kehoe Myers. Additionally, thank you to our Balcony Bar sponsor Tilly’s and Elders Real Estate for their support of the 2022 Glennie Gift.
